Spooky Apple Spice Rice Crispy Treats

Ingredients

  • 3 cupsSunrise Fresh Dried Apples
  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • 16 oz bag marshmallows
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice
  • 7 cups rice cereal

Topping

  • 12 oz bag white chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • ½ tsp apple pie spice
  • Candy googly eyes

Directions

    1. Line or grease an 11x13 inch baking dish.
    2. Add the dried apples to a food processor and pulse until the apple pieces are mostly pea-sized. Some pieces may be smaller or bigger.
    3. Add the butter, marshmallows, and maple syrup to a large microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second increments, stirring, until the marshmallows and butter are mostly melted. Stiring the apple pie spice until smooth.
    4. Add the dried apple pieces and rice cereal to the marshmallow mixture and stir well to combine all ingredients. Working quickly, transfer the rice crispies to the parchment-lined baking dish and press evenly.
    5. Let chill for roughly 30 minutes, until firm and set. Cut into equal rectangles.
    6. Once the rice crispies are set, add the white chocolate chips and coconut oil to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring each time, until the chocolate is melted. Add the apple pie spice to the chocolate and stir well to combine.
    7. Use a spatula or spoon to drizzle and flick the white chocolate horizontally across the individual krispie treats. Use another couple drops of melted chocolate to stick the googly eyes on the mummy treats.
    8. Finish with an extra sprinkle of apple pie spice, then let chill in the refrigerator for 10minutes to harden the chocolate.
